Hey, I know I said I wouldn’t sign on but I kinda wanna write about my trip so far! So here it goes:
Day 1:
I have to wake up at four in the morning to be to work by five for the bakery. Everything goes smoothly except the shift just DRAGS on and on because I want to leave so bad. FINALLY 1 o’clock shows up, my mom gets me from work, and we drive to Salt Lake.
After checking in, we are in our seats, it’s 11:30 PM at this point (I’ve decided I hate red eye flights) and soon we are IN THE AIR! After a long plane ride with very little sleep we touch down in JFK airport in Queens. Then, a short bus ride later we are IN MANHATTAN! WOO!!
The first thing on our itinerary is a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and the 9/11 memorial. Since we are so tired (me, mom and Natalie) we decide to not walk the bridge and instead take the subway down town to explore wall street while we wait for the high schoolers (I forgot to mention that we kinda piggybacked onto a high school theatre trip. It was cheaper that way) eventually they show up and we are able to go into the memorial.
It is amazing how humbling that place is. The fountains with the names are huge and it was spectacular the work that was put in to make sure that every life that was taken was remembered. I almost started crying, it was so beautiful and I’m so glad we got to go.
After that we want to find the New York Stock Exchange for Natalie because her husband is an accountant and wanted a picture of it. So after asking around downtown for way too long we finally found it and she got her picture! Yay! Then we headed back to times square to meet up with the group and check into our rooms so we could NAP!
Now we’ve napped, I have my new dress on, some makeup, and we are going to Top of the Rock before we have dinner at our all time favorite restaurant in the city, L’Bayne.
THIS IS SUCH A FUN TRIP AND IT’S ONLY THE FIRST DAY!!!
